Our Information Knowledge management team have a tricky job – persuading people with other things on their mind to review what they’ve acheived and where they’ve messed up for the benefit of future Games organising committees. Here’s our top acheivement list to date we sent them. Seems a long time since we thought setting up a blog was some how edgy, but times change:

• #1yeartogo – 167k entries and a global trending topic on Twitter

 • Handover video and UCG campaign (2m+_views)

 • Set piece sign up sites: 240,000 registrants for volunteering, 30,000 for torch and 4m+ for tickets without a hitch and delivering new benchmarks for usability and accessibility with extensive testing

 • London 2012 interactive map (described as the future of cartography by Fast Company magazine at the time)

 • Mascots – developed a complete online persona through social media and online film and mascot games – 20,000 customised mascots created and growing

 • Social presences – over 250,000 highly engaged followers and counting • 20,000 schools signed up to our Get Set education site – built in 2007 from scratch and evolved since

 • Olympic movement’s first blog

 • Developing and signing off a digital commercial programme (£10m target, currently 30% acheived)

 • Developed mature processes and policies from scratch for dealing with suppliers, internal customers and technology to ensure highest quality, best value and risk mitigated work and building very strong relationships

 • Clearing the path to develop mobile apps including clarifying contractual issues with sponsors and the IOC and raising unplanned budget

 • Acheived deep integration between digital comms and wider comms

 • Procured, planned and initiated Games time website project
