In the last three months my team has been pretty busy:

  • #1yeartogo visualisation lead to hashtag being global trending topic on Twitter / competitive tweeting worldwide
  • Games time website well into development (1 year in)
  • Spectator Journey Planner launched
  • Ad serving integrated into www.london2012.com
  • Young Games Maker applications launched
  • New www.london2012.com homepage launched
  • Procured mobile app developers for two apps , a new mapping platform provider, an events database provider
  • Launched two new mascot Games, recorded 20,000 customised Wenlock & Mandevilles
  • Hit 150,000 Twitter followers, 225,000 Facebook Likes across London 2012 channels
  • Launched a Paralympic ticketing Facebook app and a searchable ticketing schedule as well as overseen the Paralympic ticketing site front end on Ticketmaster
  • Launched a Paralympic Torch Relay section of www.london2012.com
  • About to launch a bunch of Test event (“Cluster 2”) sites on Monday

Back in 2006 it took us more than 3 months just to work up a brief to redesign our then modest website  – and we didnt have any significant strictures around procurement, none at all around technical integrity (whoops), precious few around contracts and only the lightest touch deal approval process let alone the dozens of internal stakeholders that now want sign off.

We’ve come a long way.
